The Myth of Us

Myth of Us takes place in a visually dynamic realm in which dance and scenic elements combine to create an exotic mythology of the self in the environment. With Myth of Us, Maureen Whiting Company culminated a three-year residency at Seattle University’s Lee Center for the Arts that investigated the intersection of dance theatre and visual design.

Myth of Us features the visual design of Etta Lilienthal, including a cloud cover of enormous plastic bags and a chalk-drawn Fibonacci spiral upon which the dancers performed. Composers Eyvind Kang, Dave Abramson and Evan Schiller produced the score. Myth of Us is performed by Ezra Dickinson, Marissa Neiderhauser and Cassie Wulff.

Myth of Us was created with support from The Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs4Culture and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation.
