The Maureen Whiting Dance Company, inspired by the rawness and beauty of life, seeks to deepen the experience of performing arts. The work is characterized by intellectual research, movement invention, interdisciplinary collaboration, multi-media and site-specific performance.
Choreographer Dancer Mathematician Maureen Whiting has investigated movement improvisation through art performance practices and collaborations since forming the Company in 1997. Years of dance training and interdisciplinary collaborations with a deep knowledge of mathematics provides a context for her innovative practice.
